Aloha is a word synonymous with love and compassion. This site was created to bring just that to support the people of Maui in their time of need.
The idea of Luau for Maui was born out of an email received from a hotel in New Jersey advertising a Labor Day Luau. The announcement arrived as I was reading the heartbreaking news of the fires in Maui, and the destruction of historic Front Street in Lahaina. I was immediately compelled to reach out to the hotel to suggest donating a portion of their Luau proceeds to help those impacted by fires. It struck me as the thing right to do. Afterall, it was the Hawaiians who first brought Luaus to the world! The tradition dates back to 1819 when King Kamehameha II celebrated the first ceremonial feast. We have Hawaii and the Aloha spirit for making Luaus an active part of our culture today.
What a beautiful gesture it would be for businesses and individuals to come together and host a Luau where donations can be made to support the devastation in Maui. Be it a small gathering of friends, a yacht club fundraiser, or a hotel Luau event, it's a reason to celebrate the Aloha Spirit that will rebuild Maui and encourage the giving to local charities. This site is provided to help donations flow in with the tide to our Aloha friends and family.
All wishing to support Luau for Maui are welcome to provide this website to individuals or make a group donation. All links go directly to the charity websites.

Music has a special way to heal our hearts. This song Hoka Hey by Will Evans lifts my sadness so I share in the hopes it does the same for you.
We had the good fortune to see Will Evans in Makawao at the Sheri Reeve Art Studio on February 3, 2023. He is currently on tour and will be raising money for families affected at his upcoming shows. www.willevans.com
